Welcome to Primary 5 - Mrs Mulligan
The Human Body
We have been learning all about the function of the skeleton and naming the bones. We enjoyed putting them in the correct place and labelling them. We have also been learning about the organs of the body and did some research on organs to present to the rest of the class.
We constructed model lungs to learn about the respiratory system and how the lungs function. After completing our model lungs, we wrote instructions to explain how we made them.
Chester's Challenge
P5 have successfully completed Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke’s Chester’s Challenge and unlocked the treasure chest to good health!
We learned how to make healthy choices and how to eat a balanced diet. We also enjoyed physical exercise in our assembly hall, completing various active tasks to keep fit.
Outdoor Numeracy and Maths Week
We revised 2D shapes and place value outside using a variety of games and activities.
During Maths Week, we also had great fun solving number puzzles to find clues to unlock a treasure chest.
We have learned about 2D shapes recently and explored our creative sides by creating beautiful pieces of art work inspired by Paul Klee. We also studied tessellations and enjoyed a digital homework where we found examples of tessellation around our homes.
Literacy - The Worst Witch
Welcome to potion class! We are really enjoying reading The Worst Witch as our class novel. As you come into our corridor you are welcome to look at our lovely displays.
We had our very own potion classes! We enjoyed learning about chemical reactions and developing our scientific vocabulary.
