Welcome to Primary 5 - Miss Tumelty
ICT and World Around US - Presentations
We have been very busy creating presentations on London landmarks using Google Slides. We enjoyed sharing them with the rest of the class and learning lots of new facts.
New Topic - London!
We are really enjoying our new World Around Us topic. Check out our pictures of famous London landmarks. Do you recognise them?
P5 have successfully completed Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke’s Chester’s Challenge and unlocked the treasure chest to good health!
Huge thank you to Jessica and Rachel for teaching us how to make healthy choices and making the lessons fun!

World Around Us - The Body
We constructed model lungs to learn about the respiratory system and how the lungs function.
Literacy - The Worst Witch
Welcome to potion class!
We are really enjoying reading The Worst Witch as our class novel. We had our very own potion class! We enjoyed learning about chemical reactions and developing our scientific vocabulary.
World Around Us - Egg challenge
For this task we had to work in groups to create a design that protects an egg when dropped! We had to test and experiment with different materials before we selected the most appropriate materials that stopped our egg from breaking when it hit the ground.
As you can see, we were very happy with the results!
Outdoor Learning - The World Around Us
Our first topic is 'My Body'. We have been learning all about the function of the skeleton and naming the bones. Check out the photos of us putting the skeleton together and labelling the bones.
We have also been learning about the organs of the body. We enjoyed putting them in the correct place and labelling them.
We love getting outdoors! Check out the photos from our outdoor place value lesson. We ordered numbers, solved place value riddles, completed a multiples of 10 relay race and used natural materials to represent numbers.
